End of Year Wellness Reflection


What does wellness mean to you?

To me wellness is about learning to eat healthy and learn how to be happy in your life being healthy and eat healthy food. Wellness is very important because everything we do and everything we feel relates to our well being.
Which habit of 54321+8 is your strength? Why? (Review your earlier blog post)

I think the most often thing that I do from the 54321+8 is probably workout and fitness because I go for Track and field in school four times a week and I often play badminton at home and I go for Gymnastics for 2 hours every Wednesday. Why I do that often because sports is kind of that what I love and Sports makes me happy and makes me also feel healthy. 
Which habit do you need to continue to improve on?

I think maybe I have to improve on stop watching TV when I finish homework and maybe sometimes just do something active so go out and do some activities or take something from at home where you can start building stuff with. I just want to try to avoid YouTube.
How physically active have you been this year on a weekly basis? Share as many things that you can remember.

I have been very active because for this whole year I have been participating in three different types of sports so badminton, basketball, and track and field. Those activities had practice three times a week and now track and field has four times a week. I also have my other activities that I do out of school like Gymnastics 2 hours on Wednesday I think I was very active throughout this whole year.
What is your strongest area of physical fitness? (strength, flexibility, cardio respiratory endurance) Which are do you need to work on?

I think I am strongest in strength and flexibility because during Gymnastics I have to do handstands and stuff so you are kind of carrying yourself and during Gymnastic we do lots of stretching like the splits and stuff.
Why do you think being physically active is important?

It is important for your health and I think without any sports in your life you can't be happy because when you so sports you do it with your friends and you always feel like you are pushing yourself to get better and at the end you feel like you achieved something that is why I think physical activity is very important.
What was your strongest area of our Social Respect focus? Why? (Effort, Self-Direction, Participation, Self-Control, Caring)

I think Effort because whenever I have to do something that is challenging and you can decide if you want to challenge yourself or do the easier thing I always choose to challenge myself because I always think if I do this maybe I can achieve something and I can feel accomplished that is why I do the challenging stuff.
What was your focus area for the Happiness Project? What did you learn? What are you continuing to work on in this area?

My focus for this Happiness Project was Fitness and Physical movement because I know I do lots of Sports so I move a lot a day and I love Sports because it always makes me feel like I am doing something to my body and it makes me happy because I get to spend time with my friends or my family members and that is what makes me happy. Something I learned is that just by doing sports you can actually achieve a lot like happiness and you feel like you accomplished something. I am going to continue working on this so I am making a challenge that I try to be very active everyday and I think it is going well so far.
What have you done this year to help somebody else (friends, family) to improve their wellness? How successful were you, and what did you learn?

For the KM run my friends are normally are not very confident and they are scared that they get a very bad score, but I tell them that they shouldn't be scared and that they should just try their best and push themselves so that when they arrive the finish line they feel like they accomplished something and they are very happy. I was very successful with this because when we got the bracelet for the top 20 two of my friends made it into the top 20 and the other one got the bracelet for most improved so I was very proud of them!! I learned that you can always achieve things that you want to achieve when you just push yourself forward and you think of accomplishing the KM run so getting a good time and improving.
What do you do on a daily basis to promote wellness?

I go for a lot of sports activities so in school I go for some after school activities for Example in the last Semesters I had badminton, basketball, and track and field and they had practice three times a week and track and field had practice 4 times a week. The competition against other schools really wanted me to push myself forward and I became very competitive. I also do Gymnastics outside of school and every time there is anything in school that contains sports I will try to take the opportunity to join if I have time.
